Local Restaurants

There is a good licensed restaurant within ½ mile of Storth. Situated next to the flats at Sandside is the Kingfisher Restaurant - www.kingfishersandside.co.uk. Its very popular so you will need to book. For pub food, the Ship Inn at Sandside is now in private hands and the catering side of the business is being developed. The  Wheatsheaf at Beetham is recommended as is the Albion at Arnside. Details of all local pubs can be found on the separate pubs web page - Local Pubs  Slightly further afield on the A6 near Hale (next to Esso station) is the Water Garden Restaurant which opened in 2002 but has rebranded itself as an American Diner in 2007.  For more details see their website -  Water Garden Restaurant. Fancy Fish and Chips - there's a chip shop in Milnthorpe and another in Arnside. Check out the queues by viewing their webcam - Arnside Chip Shop Live Web Cam

Indian & Chinese Food

Nearest Indian Restaurant and takeaway is the Savari Sands restaurant on the A590 near Witherslack (former Little Chef premises opposite the filling station). In Kendal, try the Mumbai Restaurant on Stramongate, previous known as the Spice Garden but now under new management and well worth a visit.  Fancy watching your meal being prepared; try the British Raj takeaway in Kendal. Near Cartmel? then try the excellent Cafe Naaz.

Fans of Chinese food have a choice of 2 establishments in Milnthorpe. The Canton Chef is both a restaurant and take away and prides itself on producing authentic dishes without monosodium glutamate. Jumbo is a traditional Chinese take away. Follow the links below to see their menus.
